The Latem Gallery Lochristi … a passion for expressive art…
During 15 years I organized a yearly art exhibition at our home in Lochristi with the paintings of my husband Hans Kitslaar and sculptures of several artists. The success of these exhibitions made me dream of my own art gallery. On the 1st of August 2014 I had the opportunity to open The Latem Gallery and I was lucky to be followed by the artists that I exhibited in Lochristi: Patrick Villas, Christophe Charbonnel, Annette Defoort, … In the meantime we enlarged the group with more artists with international reputation and whose artwork seduced us. Our device remains to offer a platform to artists who invest with all their heart into their creative work, and who are hungry to present always new and forceful creations and who consider artistic quality and craftsmanship as important characteristics of their expressive work. The artists which our gallery will represent will always be artists which we admire for their talent and skill and for their courage to dedicate their skills to a live as an artist.
2020 was for all of us a hectic year. Besides the Covid-19, I lost my husband and soulmate Hans Kitslaar. His studio became a beautiful gallery and I decided in 2021 to return to Lochristi. From now on I organize every year exhibitions with the artists that I represent for several years now, but also with new talent.
With this, we wish to invite every art lover to visit our gallery in Lochristi and to let you be seduced by beautiful creations!
Gedurende 15 jaar organiseerde ik jaarlijks een kunsttentoonstelling bij ons thuis in Lochristi met de schilderijen en pastels van mijn echtgenoot Hans Kitslaar en met sculpturen van andere kunstenaars. Het succes van deze tentoonstellingen gaf mij zin om onze eigen kunstgalerie te starten. Op 1 augustus 2014 openden wij de deuren van The Latem Gallery samen met een aantal kunstenaars die eerder in Lochristi hadden geëxposeerd: Patrick Villas, Christophe Charbonnel, Annette Defoort, … Ondertussen werd groep aangevuld met andere kunstenaars met een internationale reputatie waarvan wij het werk bewonderen. Ons doel blijft een platform te bieden aan kunstenaars die met hart en ziel creëren, en die steeds opnieuw krachtige creaties neerzetten waarbij zij artistieke kwaliteit en vakmanschap als belangrijke karakteristieken van hun creatieve werk beschouwen. Onze keuze van kunstenaars voor de galerie heeft alles te maken met onze bewondering voor hun artistieke creaties en voor hun talent en de moed om hun leven te wijden aan het kunstenaarschap.
2020 was voor ons allen een hectisch jaar. Naast de covid-perikelen verloor ik tevens mijn man en soulmate Hans Kitslaar. Zijn mooie atelierruimte gaf mij inspiratie om de kunstgalerie opnieuw over te brengen naar Lochristi. Vanaf 2021 organiseer ik jaarlijks tentoonstellingen met het werk van mijn vaste kunstenaars, maar ook met enkele nieuwkomers en met jong talent .
Wij nodigen alle kunstliefhebbers uit voor een bezoek aan onze galerie en beeldentuin in Lochristi en zich te laten bekoren door fantastische creaties!
Durant 15 années j’organisais annuellement, dans notre maison à Lochristi, une exposition d’art consacrée aux peintures et pastels de mon époux Hans Kitslaar ainsi qu’à des sculptures d’autres artistes. Le succès de ces expositions m’a donné l’envie d’ouvrir notre propre galerie d’art. Le 1er août 2014 nous inaugurions The Latem Gallery, avec la complicité de quelques artistes qui avaient déjà exposé à Lochiristi : Patrick Villas, Christophe Charbonnel, Annette Defoort… . Entre-temps nous pouvons compter sur la participation d’autres artistes à la réputation internationale et dont nous admirons le travail. Notre but reste de proposer une plate-forme à des artistes qui créent avec cœur et âme, et qui nous offres tour à tour des créations puissantes, dans lesquelles ils considèrent la qualité artistique et professionnelle les principales caractéristiques de leur œuvre créative.
Notre choix des artistes pour la galerie est entièrement défini par notre admiration pour leur création artistique et leur talent et le courage qu’ils ont de consacrer leur vie à l’art.
2020 était pour nous tous une année dure. Non seulement Covid-19, mais le déces de mon mari Hans Kitslaar m’ont fait réflichir sur mon futur. L’atelier de mon mari me donnait inspiration de ré-ouvrir la galerie à Lochristi. J’organise chaque année des expositions dans la galerie et dans le jardin, avec les superbes oeuvres de mon groupe d’artistes que je représente depuis des années, mais également avec du nouveau talent
